Department of obstetrics and gynecology is housed in Ram
Prakash Gupta mother and child state referral hospital at Shaheed path Lucknow.
It is a 200 bedded hospital with well equipped OPD services and 24 hours
emergency care. There are various speciality clinics like Adolescent clinic,
High risk pregnancy clinic, Gestational diabetes mellitus clinic, gynae
oncology clinic and menopause clinic. A 12 bedded maternal ICU for management
of high risk and critical obstetric cases will be functional soon. There is
provision of modular OTS equipped with state of art facility for
gynaecological, obstetric and laparoscopic surgeries.

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology is headed by Dr. Smriti Agrawal with a strength of 10 faculty members. MS program began in 2022 with 6 PG residents per year.
The department held a Women health checkup camp on the event of Women’s Day on 9th March 2022 to educate about healthy lifestyle for themselves and their family.
We also celebrated breast feeding week from 1 st to 7 th August 2022 and awareness activities were carried out in wards and OPD area by faculty and lactational counsellor. A CME on breast feeding was held on 4 Aug 2022 in collaboration with UNICEF.
We are continuously involved in PG teaching and training programme.
Sudeeksha, a CME was organised under the aegis of the IFS on 6 th may 2023 to teach infertility related modules. PG residents of other colleges also participated and were benefitted from the experience and knowledge of faculty members.
Another feather in the cap this year has been inauguration of Reproductive Medicine OPD on 8 th August 2023. The department aims to provide infertility and IUI services and the proposal for in vitro fertilization programme has also been approved.
The department has conducted several outreach programmes with highly successful HPV vaccination camps and till date we have vaccinated around 4000 girls.
We celebrated yoga day with full enthusiasm on 20 June 2023 and around 30 antenatal women participated in yoga session.
